Supported tours featuring Alpe d’Huez
Alpe d’Huez is just one climb in this epic, week long tour of iconic Tour de France cols. Starting in Morzine the tour features 10 Alpine classics: Ventoux, Galibier, Telegraphe, Izoard, Bonette, Madeleine, Glandon, Colombiere, Joux Plane & the Alpe itself. The tour runs twice in 2018, choose either 29 July- 5 August or 2-9 September.
Cycle Alpe d’Huez
It doesn’t get more mythical than Alpe d’Huez. Probably the most famous climb in the world and the scene of countless legendary battles. Each of the 21 numbered hairpins is dedicated to a Tour de France icon.
From the base of the climb to the finish line after the last hairpin in the village is 12km where you will have gained 1039m giving an average gradient of 8.7%. The first couple of kilometres are the steepest after which it settles into a steady rhythm. The professional photographers stationed over the last few hairpins ensure that your efforts will be captured for posterity. Remember to smile if you have any energy left!
