Ride the 'Big 5' - Stelvio, Ventoux, Alpe d'Huez, Tourmalet, Galibier & many more

This is an 11 night / 12 day supported point-to-point tour, starting in Milan and finishing in Toulouse. Fulfil cycling’s ultimate bucket list of cols in the holiday of a lifetime.

  • Ride in four distinct cycling environments: French Alps, Italian Alps, Provence and the Pyrenees
  • Climb the 48 hairpins of the classic Passo dello Stelvio ascent
  • Opportunity to take the 3 ascents challenge up Mt Ventoux
  • Stand on the podium at the top of Alpe d’Huez
  • Ethereal vistas from the top of Galibier
  • Follow in the wheel tracks of cycling history as you surmount Tourmalet

11 nights half-board accommodation is included throughout in exceptional cycle-friendly hotels with a delicious 3 or 4 course meal every evening and a substantial breakfast every morning (always with plenty of carbs).

On the daily rides our support minibuses continually leap-frog the group with chilled water, High 5 energy gels & bars, fresh & dried fruit, Haribos, spare kit etc., and are on hand to assist with mechanical issues should they occur. We manage the group so that everyone can ride at the pace that they are comfortable with, and will regroup regularly, and always at the top of a col.

To climb just the ‘Big 5’ cols involves around 350km and 8,000m of ascent. Our flexible itinerary enables up to a further 550km and 15,000m supported rides, featuring many other world-famous climbs.

We are not here to beast you, but rather to encourage you, and share in the challenge and triumph of the conquest. We dine together every evening to celebrate the latest victories and share the stories of the day, and maintain a high staff to guest ratio to ensure you are always well catered for.

Due to its itinerary, this tour involves some significant transfers (the Italian Alps and the Pyrenees are some 1300km apart). Our previous guests agree that this is well worth it to fullfil such an outstanding lifetime achievement in a single tour.

Legendary Cols Tour

Great hotels and meals, allowing me to focus on ridding

Legendary Cols Tour

The tour was well planned & managed to incorporate many iconic climbs. Three distinct localities however transfers were quite manageable & allowed for a partial rest day. Accommodation & meal options of excellent standard. In summary a great tour if you want to accomplish a lot of riding with options to reduce if you choose. I would suggest if you want to experience many of the famous climbs of the alps & Pyrenees in a 2 week timeframe this is an advisable tour. Challenging but enjoyable, assisted greatly by team at Forever Cycle tours.

Legendary Cols Tour

The Legendary Cols Tour of 2017 is a trip I'll long remember. Dani, Ben and Alex from the tour team gave fantastic support, with Dani cycling with the stragglers and Ben leading the pack and ensuring we never got lost. Alex drove the van, gave bicycle tech support, took photos and provided food and drink. Their professionalism and friendliness made the trip very enjoyable, and I'd recommend Forever Cycle Tours to anybody. I'll definitely be doing business with them in the future.
